Today’s Project – Palomino Mare with Foal

I decided this piece needed something so I added the baby. This is conte with oil pencil on black charcoal paper, about 8 1/2 x 11″. It’s listed on eBay.

About Nancy J. Bailey

Artist, author, bad karaoke singer. Woodsy ragamuffin. Mom of a horse named Clifford who plays fetch and paints with watercolors. He visits libraries and schools with me, to promote literacy and making the world a better place. Yes, he is house trained, no, he doesn't live in my house! I have written three books about Clifford. But my newest book, THE NORTH SIDE OF DOWN, is co-written by my awesome sister Amanda, who has Down syndrome. Her unexpected one-liner wisecracks can always make me laugh. If you make me laugh, you've made my day!

Wow, gorgeous! I love how you can just think up something to add, throw it in and it looks like it was planned for that the entire time.

  2. Nancy says:

    Wow, thanks Gecko!

  3. Pony Girl says:

Wow, that is really nice! Love the mare’s dapples. It is great to see something in this media. I’ve been playing with chalk and oil pastels with the kiddos at school. They love to blend, blend, blend! I’m turning them into little artists, I hope!
